Lipedema Surgeon Training in Salt Lake City, Utah
Job-9297
Advance your surgical expertise in a highly specialized area of medicine through a personalized training pathway designed to prepare you for a full-time career in lipedema surgery.
An established specialty surgical practice is seeking a physician interested in developing or advancing their expertise in lipedema reduction surgery. This opportunity combines direct training with an experienced physician leader in the field, exposure to specialized surgical techniques and a pathway to a full-time position within a growing practice.
For surgeons with a strong procedural background and an interest in treating a complex, chronic condition, this role offers the opportunity to build on existing skills while focusing on surgical care that can meaningfully improve patients' comfort, mobility and quality of life.
A Training Pathway Built Around Your Experience
The selected physician will participate in a specialized fellowship-style training program led by the institute's founder and medical director, with the duration tailored to their previous liposuction experience.
Training includes one to two hours of weekly didactic instruction, which may be completed in person or remotely depending on the physician's location. Participants will also complete approximately one to two months of onsite clinical and surgical training at a Utah surgical center, gaining experience with patient consultations and lipedema procedures.
Travel and accommodations for the onsite training component will be covered.
Following successful completion of the program, the intention is for the physician to transition into a full-time surgical position with the practice.
The Surgical Opportunity
As part of an established lipedema treatment program, you'll focus on specialized surgical care for patients living with this chronic condition. The practice anticipates approximately five to seven surgical cases per week, reflecting the physically demanding and highly procedural nature of this work.
Compensation & Employment
The practice is interested in establishing a long-term employment relationship, with a W-2 structure preferred.
Competitive compensation will be discussed based on the physician's experience, the anticipated training pathway and the subsequent full-time surgical role. Compensation arrangements for the fellowship period and after its completion will be reviewed directly with qualified candidates.
